Manuel V Pangilinan (born July 14, 1946 in Manila, Philippines), also known as Manny Pangilinan and MVP, is a Filipino businessman. He is the Chairman of the Philippine Long Distance Telephone Company, from 1998 up to the present. Pangilinan spent his elementary and high school days at San Beda College. He graduated cum laude from the Ateneo de Manila University with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics. He received his MBA degree in 1968 from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania.^[2] He is also the owner of ABC/TV5network, Cignal Digital TV and Smart Communications. He was the former Chairman of the Board of Trustees of Ateneo de Manila University.


Pangilinan founded First Pacific in 1981 and served as its Managing Director until 1999. He was appointed as Executive Chairman until June 2003, when he was named CEO and Managing Director. Within the First Pacific Group, he holds the positions of President Commissioner of P.T. Indofood Sukses Makmur Tbk, the largest food company in Indonesia. He was named Chairman of Philippine Long Distance Telephone Company (PLDT), after serving as its President and CEO until February 2004. He also serves as Chairman of Maynilad Water Services, Inc., Metro Pacific Tollways Corporation, Medical Doctors, Inc., Metro Pacific Investments Corporation, Landco Pacific Corporation, Pilipino Telephone Corporation, Smart Communications, Inc. and Manila Metro Rail Transit System.




Victoria "Vicki" G. Belo (born January 25, 1956) is a Filipino Dermatologist and television personality.

Belo earned a Bachelor of Science in Psychology from the University of the Philippines, Diliman in 1978. She attended the University of Santo Tomas Faculty of Medicine and Surgery and graduated with a Doctor of Medicine degree in 1985. She obtained a Diploma inDermatology from the Institute of Dermatology in Bangkok, Thailand, in 1990.^[1]

Belo trained in Dermatologic and laser Surgery at the Scripps Clinics in San Diego, California, Harvard Medical School in Boston,Massachusetts, and at St. Francis Memorial Hospital in the University of California at San Francisco.

Belo is a speaker and guest lecturer in several organizations in the Philippines and abroad, such as the International Society of Cosmetic Laser Surgeons in Washington, D.C.; the American Society of Dermatologic Surgery in Portland, Oregon; the World Congress on Liposuction Surgery in Pasadena, California; the American Academy of Cosmetic Surgery; and the International Darmstadt Convention on Intense Pulsed Light Therapy (Quantum SR): Asian Experience in Frankfurt, Germany and United States of America.^[1]

Belo is a member of the following organizations: American Academy of Dermatology (AAD), American Society of Dermatologic Surgery (ASDS), American Academy of Cosmetic Surgery (AACS), American Society for Laser Medicine and Surgery (ASLMS), American Academy of Anti-Aging Medicine (A4M), International Society of Cosmetic Laser Surgeons (ISCLS), International Society of Dermatologic Surgery (ISDS), and Philippine Society of Liposuction Surgery.

Belo is also an active proponent of Philippine medical tourism. She is currently the founding officer for The Philippine National Society of Liposuction Surgery.

Belo currently hosts a television show called "Belo Beauty 101" which features some of her patients who have undergone her beauty services.

Henry Sy (Chinese: 施至成; pinyin: Shī Zhì chéng; born December 25, 1924) is a Chinese Filipino businessman and the founder of SM Group and chairman of SM Prime Holdings, the largest retailer and shopping mall operator in the Philippines. He earned his Associate of Arts degree in Commercial Studies at Far Eastern University in 1950.^[2] Acknowledged as the country’s "Retail King," he has come a long way from the modest shoe store he set up in Quiapo in 1946, to become Asia's biggest shopping mall operator with over 41 malls throughout the Philippines.

• SM Prime Holdings, Inc. (PSE: SMPH) or SM Prime is the parent company of the SM Group’s shopping malls. It is the largest shopping mall and retail operator in the Philippines. It was incorporated on 6 January 1994 by Filipino-Chinese entrepreneur Henry Sy to develop, conduct, operate and maintain the SM commercial shopping centers and all businesses related thereto, such as the lease of commercial spaces within the compound of shopping centers. It later went public on 5 July 1994 and subsequently grew to become the largest company listed on the Philippine Stock Exchange in terms of revenue.

• Banco de Oro Universal Bank Inc. (BDO), originally known as Acme Savings Bank, was acquired by the SM Group in 1976. The SM Group is one of the largest conglomerates in the Philippines, with substantial interests in financial services, real estate development, and tourism and entertainment, founded around its core business in commercial centers and retailing. BDO listed its shares on the Philippine Stock Exchange (PSE) on May 21, 2002.^[5]

• Belle Corporation is a leading Philippine developer of high-end residential and leisure properties. Its products are located in a recreational area comprising mountains, rolling hills, and lakeshores about 1–2 hours south of Manila in Tagaytay City and Batangas province, with spectacular views of Taal Lake and the surrounding countryside.The Belle Group owns approximately 1,280 hectares of undeveloped land around existing finished and in-process projects, on which it will develop future projects over at least the next five years without the need for substantial new land acquisitions.

• Highlands Prime, Inc. engages in developing leisure properties in the Philippines. The company’s property assets comprise undeveloped land, subdivision lots, and finished residential units located in Tagaytay City, Cavite, and Batangas. It sells its products primarily to members of Tagaytay Highlands International Golf Club, Inc.; Tagaytay Midlands Golf Club, Inc.; and The Country Club at Tagaytay Highlands through accredited sales agents and brokers.

• China Banking Corporation, together with its subsidiaries, provides commercial banking products and services to businesses and entrepreneurs, as well as to individuals in the Philippines. It offers deposit products, loans and trade finance, domestic and foreign fund transfers, treasury products, trust products, foreign exchange, corporate finance, and other investment banking services. The company also offers insurance brokerage, computer services, and asset management services.

• SM Development Corporation (SMDC) was originally incorporated in 1974 as Ayala Fund, Inc., a closed-end investment company. In March 1986, it was renamed SM Fund, Inc. after the SM Group of Companies took majority ownership of the company. Since then, SM Fund, Inc. remained as an investment company providing investors with a professionally managed vehicle to invest in diversified businesses in the country.
